    The road distance between Pula and Zagreb is 268 km, and more than 20 buses run daily between this two cities. Please note that Pula is on an average of 4 hrs and 57 mins away from Zagreb. Every day, the first bus to Zagreb departs at 3:45 am. The only exception is weekend, Saturday and Sunday, when buses start its way to Zagreb at 5:15 am. The lines on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays run until 5:45 pm, Mondays and Thursdays until 6:30 pm, and Fridays and Sundays until 8:25 pm.

    There are no significant breaks in the traffic on the Pula - Zagreb line. That means, the only period when buses don't depart are from 7:00 to 9:25 am and from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

    If you would like to avoid the crowd, we recommend that you choose one of the departs in which two buses starts its drive to Zagreb. Those departs are: 5:15 am, 5:30 am and 2:15 pm.

For the first mentioned carrier one-way ticket is charged at a price of 10.15 EUR for departure at 7:00 am. Furthermore, one-way ticket for Crnja Tours will cost you 10.55 EUR for departure at 12:50 pm.

    When planning a trip on the Pula - Zagreb line it's important to inform yourself about the bus stops. Some buses are stopping up to twenty times on their way.

    For example, one of the buses that runs at 5:15 am stops 18 times before coming to the point destination.

    The fastest way to Zagreb is to choose a bus that departs at 12:50 pm and that it is scheduled to arrive at 4:15 pm at the final destination. This means that that ride will last for 3 hrs and 25 mins, and there is a huge difference compared to the slower buses that stops more than 15 times on their way to Croatian capital.

    Zagreb bus station

    The contents at the Zagreb bus station are really diverse. Apart from the wardrobe there is also a toilet for the passengers. Plus, there are: bakeries, shops and cafe bars, then the post office, currency exchange office and ATMs.

    To get away from the bus station, there are several options depending on where are you going. First of all, the tram station is located right across the street when you exit the bus station from its front.

    In case you need a city center sit on a tram line no. 2 or 6 in the direction of Crnomerc. To get you to Maksimir you will need tram line no. 5 in the direction of Maksimir, while for Savski Bridge and Jarun, choose the same tram line, but in the direction of Precko.

    As you see, the bus station is located at the traffic crossroad so there are really many possibilities.

    The buses are modernly equipped. First of all there are air-conditioners which are very important during the summer months. There is also a WiFi access provided by a large number of carriers and tiny TV receivers where the driver sometimes releases a movie.

    It is clear that traveling with a car brings a number of advantages. Mostly in terms of easier transportation of larger quantities of luggage, pets, and similar stuff. But the bonus cost of traveling by car is definitely fuel. For 268 km you will spend around 28 EUR on fuel. It's sure that the fuel prices should be added to the amount of toll which is 16,5 EUR for this relation. Too expensive, right?

    When it comes to a plane it is important to know these two. First, the minimum air distance between Pula and Zagreb is 197.05 km. Second, you must know the distance from the airport to the center. Pula Airport is about ten kilometers away from the city of Pula.

    So, in addition to the much higher ticket prices, there is also the problem of airport distance from the city of Pula. If you choose to travel by bus, you'll simply avoid this problem. Let's remember, the Pula bus station is only one kilometer away from the center of Pula.

    Bus stops on Pula - Zagreb journey

    Traveling to Zagreb bus passes many smaller towns and cities. Here are some of them: Pazin, Hum, Ucka, Opatija, Rijeka, Trsat, Sobol, Fuzine, Delnice, Ravna Gora, Vrbovsko and Karlovac.

    Then through Opatija, Rijeka and a number of others that are leading to Gorski Kotar County. In this case, it means passing through Ravna Gora and Vrbovsko from where the bus then goes to Karlovac and consequently continues its ride to Zagreb.
