About Bus Station Šibenik

How to get to the bus terminal in Šibenik?

Bus terminal Šibenik is located in the near proximity of the coast and the main promenade, like many other Dalmatian towns. You can reach it by city bus, taxi or bicycle. City bus lines 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 will take you to the Market, which is a 5-minute walk from the terminal. Taxi will get you there directly, but it will also cost you more. You will need to shell out approximately 30-40 kn (4,4 $ / 4 €) for a 5 km / 3,1 miles ride.

You can also rent a bike for 79 kn (11,5 $ / 10,5 €, yearly fee) and then drive for free every day for a half an hour. Every new hour costs 8 kn extra (1,1 $ / 1 € ). The rent-a-bicycle station is located near the bus terminal.

    What can I find here?

Once you get to bus terminal Šibenik, you will find kiosks, cafés, grocery stores, a couple of fast food joints and, of course, the ticket office.

You're in luck if you crave fresh fruits, vegetables and/or fish. You can find all that at Šibenik's Market, which is in the close vicinity of the bus terminal, just a 5-minute walk from it. Prices in the stores and fast food restaurants are standard, but they can vary on the market. Basically, they depend on the merchant and your ability to haggle.

If you’ve got time to kill

When you come to the bus terminal, you may not see the sea, but you'll smell it. There is a good reason for that since the promenade is right behind the bus terminal. If you start heading west, you'll reach the ferry port in 3 minutes and the train station in 10 minutes.

If you went eastwards, you'll soon find yourself on Šibenik's main promenade (Obala dr. Franje Tuđmana). Numerous cafés and restaurants are situated along the promenade, as well as one children playground. Walk along the coast for a half an hour and you'll reach the city of Banj beach. Banj had recently been renovated, so you'll find lots of exercise machines there, as well as a basketball and a volleyball field. Also, there are special walking areas above the beach, with lots of love locks hanging from its fence.

If you're set on exploring the Old Town, you must visit The Cathedral of St. James first, a part of UNESCO World Heritage List and Croatia's most important monument from 15th/16th century. Across the Cathedral you can find one of the best Croatian restaurants, if we are to believe the country's best gourmets, that is. The Museum of Šibenik isn't very far either. The Old Town also hides some underrated gems like peaceful Medieval Mediteranean Garden of St. Lawrence's Monastery. St. Michael's Fortress is located a bit further away from the Old Town's core but it's worth visiting, especially during the summer, when it is transformed into a music stage. We'd recommend you rest from all the walking in Robert Visiani's park, located at the beginning of promenade. You're going to need it.

Vollo Tip Walking along the promenade won't stretch your legs, but if you go to the Old Town unprepared you will be gasping for air after half an hour. Going towards Šibenik's center is an uphill climb so you'd better have a good hat and a water container.
